Rental Requirements
What do I need to rent a vehicle?
To rent with Blue Oval Rentals, you’ll need:
- A valid driver’s license
- A credit or debit card in your name
- Proof of insurance (company name, policy number, and expiration date)
Do you require a credit check?
No. We do not run credit checks for our rentals, including long-term options.
Do you accept debit cards?
Yes, we accept both credit and debit cards. The card must be in the renter’s name.
Reservations and Payments
How do I make a reservation?
You can reserve a vehicle online through our reservation system or by calling us at (815) 200-8908. When booking, we’ll ask for your destination, estimated mileage, and number of passengers to help match you with the right vehicle.
Will I be charged when I make a reservation?
It depends on our current fleet availability. When our fleet reaches a certain utilization level, we may charge your card at the time of reservation. Otherwise, your card will be kept on file and charged at pickup.
What if my reserved vehicle isn't available?
Unlike the big box rental companies, we don’t do bait-and-switch substitutions. If, for some reason, your reserved vehicle isn’t available, we’ll call you in advance to work out a solution together.
Insurance and Coverage
Do I need my own insurance to rent?
Yes, we require proof of insurance to rent a vehicle. You’ll need to provide your insurance company’s name, policy number, and policy expiration date. A phone number for your insurance provider is helpful but not required.
Do you work with insurance companies for replacement rentals?
Absolutely. We partner with local body shops and insurance companies to provide replacement vehicles while yours is being repaired. Our team can help coordinate the process to make it as smooth as possible.
Mileage and Travel
Is there a mileage limit on rentals?
For travel rentals, we offer unlimited mileage for trips up to 30 days anywhere in the continental U.S. and Canada. For other rental types, mileage policies may vary. Give us a call and we’ll walk you through your options.
Can I take my rental out of state?
Yes. Our travel rentals allow you to explore the continental U.S. and Canada with unlimited mileage for trips up to 30 days.
Long Term Rentals
What are the benefits of a long-term rental?
Our long-term rentals include monthly billing, no credit checks, and maintenance as well. This is a great option for those who need a reliable vehicle for an extended period without the hassle of ownership.
How does pricing work for extended rentals?
We offer better pricing on longer rentals. Renting for five days is often more affordable than a standard weekly rate, and monthly rentals typically include around $200 in savings. We review long-term pricing internally to ensure you get the best rate.
Delivery and Pickup
Do you offer vehicle delivery?
